James Degale takes on Chris Eubank jr on Saturday 23rd February in what is probably a make or brake fight for both of there careers.
In DeGale's last few fights he has looked very suspect starting with a controversial draw with then W.B.C champ Badou Jack, a fight in which DeGale suffered massive facial damage including a broken nose and his front teeth knocked out, he then went on to lose his I.B.F strap against Caleb Truax who with all due respect is a Journeyman pressure fighter.
He did regain his title in the rematch in a points decision win but then decided to give up his belt to avoid facing his mandatory challenger Jose Uzcatugai, the hard hitting pressure fighter from Venezuela.
Eubank jr's last fight was a loss in the World Boxing Super Series Semi-Final against fellow countryman George Groves in which he was completely out-classed, showing up his limited boxing ability by not being able to get past Groves jab but for the DeGale fight he has enlisted the services of Las Vegas trainer Nate Vasquez in a bid to improve his boxing fundamentals.
If DeGale has any of his olympic talent left he should be able to comfortably win by unaninous decision but considering how vunerable he has looked against pressure fighters and that Eubank's best attribute is his ability to keep throwing punches for 3 minutes of every round, this is close to a 50/50 fight .
Eubank by KO/TKO/DQ is 2/1 @Betfair
DeGale by Decision/Technical Decision is 2/1 @SportingBet
