Joshua v Ruiz jr
First Mexican Heavyweight Champion ?
Andy Ruiz Jr has been confirmed as the replacement for Jarrel 'Big Baby' Miller for Anthony Joshua's U.S debut on June 1st at Madison Square Garden.
Ruiz is bidding to become the first World Heavyweight Champion of Mexican decent after coming so close in 2016 when he lost a close controversial decision to Joseph Parker, the only man to take Joshua the full 12 rounds.
While Ruiz Jr does have some attributes the could give Joshua something to think about such as very fast hands for a heavyweight and decent punching power with 21 knockouts in his 32 wins, he is a big 12/1 underdog with the bookies.
Joshua's promoters Matchroom Sports will have picked Ruiz Jr because they don't feel he is much of a threat but he does come to fight and will make it entertaining while it lasts.
Joshua will be looking to make a statement with a knockout and so i think the best bet is
Joshua [ Round 3] is 12/1 @Coral
